The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking Post-doctoral Psychology Assistants to join their team. DBH is dedicated to providing hope and services to individuals and families affected by mental health and substance use disorders. With over 2,800 employees across six inpatient behavioral health hospitals, Ohio Pharmacy Services, Ohio's prison systems, and a central office in Columbus, DBH is a significant provider of behavioral healthcare in Ohio. The department values being service-oriented, collaborative, value-driven, innovative, and having a strong sense of urgency. DBH is an Ohio Recovery Friendly Workplace, committed to supporting the health and well-being of all employees, including those in recovery, and fostering an inclusive, stigma-free environment. This is a limited-term program designed to grow Ohio's psychologist workforce and improve hospital capacity and patient outcomes, particularly for justice-involved patients. Participants will gain experience in forensic psychology, conduct psychological evaluations, assist in diagnoses and treatment plans, provide clinical interventions, and contribute to hospital initiatives. The program prepares participants for licensure and long-term careers as psychologists. This is an hourly position represented by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit.
