About The Position

The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine has a full time opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory Dr. Yen-Rei Yu. The postdoctoral fellow will be working in the area of immunology and pulmonary vascular diseases, studying the mechanisms involved in immune regulation of pulmonary vascular remodeling and the response of the lung vasculature to hypoxia and other injuries. Specifically, the post-doctoral fellow will perform mechanistic studies in hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension animal models as well as in tissues/cells from PH patients. The Yu lab employs physiological, molecular and translational approaches. The labs utilize a wide variety of model systems including primary human pulmonary vascular cells (Fibroblast, smooth muscle cell and endothelial cells) and lung tissues, small animals (mice and rats). Current projects include studies of the immune cell in regulating pulmonary vascular diseases in PH animals and patient tissues.
