About The Position

The postdoctoral researcher will play a central role in developing scalable computational tools for spatial omics data analysis within the lab. This position focuses on designing and implementing alternative backends for data storage, computation, and visualization to support the analysis of large and complex datasets. The postdoc will actively contribute to and integrate their work into the Giotto Suite, our open-source spatial omics analysis framework, collaborating closely with the broader development team to ensure robustness and community accessibility. In addition, the postdoc will apply these tools to the analysis of large-scale spatial omics datasets currently being generated in the lab, translating methodological advances into meaningful biological insights.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (PhD).
  • Extensive knowledge of basic sciences, including pure or applied physics and mathematics.
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft programs and statistical analysis tools.
  • Ability to make effective and appropriate decisions in research situations.
  • Thorough knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Ability to solve technical problems.
  • Strong analytical skills commensurate with the collaborative execution of research projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with personnel from various specialties.
  • Motivation to contribute strongly to the research effort.
  • Ability to develop personal skills relevant to independent work in a clinical setting.
