The Post Doctoral Associate will be working on projects related to cultivation of microalgae and cyanobacteria. This position requires a combination of applied- and fundamental- science experience. Prior experience in indoor and outdoor cultivation/maintenance of microalgae is desired. Prior experience in enzyme and bioproduct extraction, purification and activity assays is also desired. The incumbent must be self-directed and able to work with minimum supervision be able to document results and write quarterly/yearly progress reports to the granting agency. The candidate will be expected to perform laboratory experiments in support of funded projects, perform laboratory experiments to develop new areas of research, supervise graduate/undergraduate students, present results at professional conferences, write manuscripts for publication in refereed journals, and write/assist with preparation of grant proposals.
