The purpose of the post-doctoral position is to conduct research in the Armistead Laboratory, which investigates T-cell responses to cancer. The post-doc will engage in an already started project investigating T-cell responses to cancer and viral antigens presented by HLA -E. The Armistead Lab and collaborators have identified a T-cell receptor that targets virus-derived peptide epitopes presented by HLA -E. HLA -E is overexpressed in many cancers, particularly virally driven cancers, and the research to be conducted by this post-doc will be to further characterize the magnitude and specicity of this T-cell response in both cancer cell lines and normal cells. In addition the post-doc will work to identify additional cancer-associated or virus-derived peptides that are presented by HLA -E.
