About The Position

Positive Support Services (PSS) promotes community participation, person-centeredness and inclusion. We serve people with disabilities who have been approved for waivered services in home and community-based setting. Services will provide positive support strategies to promote and increase skills and self-determination for those striving to improve their quality of life. The Positive Support Services Specialist supports the preparation of individualized functional behavior assessments and implements PSS transition plans and/or support plans for clients. The PSS Specialist contributes to evaluating the effectiveness of services by collecting data as requested and collaborating with PSS team members to evaluate opportunities for improvement. The PSS Specialist provides training to the Direct Support Professional, caregiver or parent/guardian to ensure support plans are implemented as recommended.

Requirements

Associates degree in a social services discipline or nursing.
Two years of supervised experience working with people who exhibit challenging behavior as well as co-occurring mental disorders and neurocognitive disorders.
Ability to complete required hours of training and demonstrate competencies related to Minn. R. 9544.0040 and Minn. R. 9544.0020, subp. 47 within the first ninety (90) days of hire.
Must pass First Aid competency and CPR competency.
Dependable transportation, a current driver's license, car insurance and a driving record that meets our insurability standards.
Must be able to meet all employment requirements, defined by CCRI's policy and procedure manual.
