Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Modeling and Analysis Engineer

Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation•Huntsville, AL

About The Position

INTUITIVE is seeking a highly skilled Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Modeling and Analysis Engineer/Analyst to support Army mission partners in developing and executing advanced GNSS-denied and GNSS-degraded operational scenarios. The role enables soldiers to operate effectively in contested electromagnetic environments by producing high-fidelity modeling, analysis, and mission products that inform safe and realistic test execution. The selected candidate will work closely with range personnel, Electronic Warfare (EW) teams, and threat system operators to ensure PNT laydowns meet regulatory requirements, accurately reflect real-world threat capabilities, and align with operational constraints and mission objectives. The position supports Army and joint test events and includes developing PNT laydowns, modeling GPS interference and RF propagation, preparing mission packages and frequency requests, and maintaining documentation in secure SIPR environments. Some travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • Eight years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with GIANT (GPS Interference and Navigation Tool).
  • Proficiency with Builder (Navy frequency-modeling software).
  • Experience with commercial RF propagation modeling tools.
  • Strong understanding of RF systems, including amplifiers, power levels, modulation techniques, antenna configurations, and radiation patterns.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for technical documentation and briefing development.
  • SIPR access or ability to obtain SIPR access.
  • Experience with Google Earth or Map of the World on SIPR for geospatial visualization.
  • Some travel is required.
  • Must have an in-scope DoW Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Army PNT, NAVWAR, or EW test activities.
  • Familiarity with GPS jamming and spoofing techniques and DoD spectrum-management processes.
  • Experience with Army test ranges, operational test (OT), or developmental test (DT) organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PNT laydowns using GIANT and Interactive Scenario Builder (Builder) modeling tools in support of Army and joint test events.
  • Execute GPS interference, RF propagation, and frequency-management modeling to validate mission requirements.
  • Analyze modeling results, identify discrepancies, and adjust laydowns to support accurate and safe test execution.
  • Build complete PNT mission packages, including strawman work products, technical documentation, and PowerPoint briefing materials.
  • Prepare and submit frequency requests with supporting modeling and analysis.
  • Create geospatial representations of interference footprints using Google Earth or SIPRNet Map of the World.
  • Coordinate with test ranges, mission planners, program offices, and EW/PNT stakeholders to ensure modeling accuracy and event readiness.
  • Maintain and manage modeling products and documentation in secure SIPR environments.
  • Apply RF system engineering principles to evaluate modeling outputs and mission impacts.
