About The Position
Thom Child & Family Services in Worcester, MA is seeking a Fee for Service Portuguese Interpreter on an as needed basis to join their team. This role supports the Early Intervention program, working with children from birth to 3 years old and their families. The interpreter will provide written and verbal interpretation services to assist Early Intervention Specialists during program hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Requirements
- Fluent in Portuguese/English.
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bilingual in Portuguese/English required.
- Ability to interpret written materials in the pursuit of service delivery (via text or email).
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to meet the required competency level in Microsoft Office Software.
- Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Provide interpreting services for Early Intervention Specialists and families during community-based visits, center-based visits, group meetings and remote when necessary.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team approach to service provision.
- Maintain compliance with all Thom Child & Family Services policies and procedures/DPH regulations and requirements.
- Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.
