About The Position

The Portfolio Manager plays an important role in maintaining and growing relationships with our existing customer base. This position focuses on identifying opportunities within the dealership’s portfolio, reconnecting with previous customers, and helping customers explore their next vehicle purchase or lease. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for proactively managing and engaging with the dealership’s existing customer database to identify sales, retention, and upgrade opportunities. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, persistent, and comfortable making outbound calls and following up with customers.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in automotive sales, customer service, account management, business development, or a related role is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and following up consistently.
  • Strong ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-up and time-management skills.
  • Sales-driven with a strong desire to achieve and exceed goals.
  • Comfortable working with CRM systems and other digital tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate customer records.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a dealership team.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a portfolio of existing and previous dealership customers.
  • Proactively contact customers regarding upcoming lease maturities, financing renewals, vehicle upgrades, service history, and other potential sales opportunities.
  • Generate sales opportunities through outbound calls, email, CRM follow-ups, referrals, and other customer engagement activities.
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with customers and create a positive experience throughout the ownership and purchasing journey.
  • Identify customers who may be ready to purchase, trade in, upgrade, or replace their current vehicle.
  • Schedule qualified customers for appointments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information, follow-up activities, notes, and opportunities within the dealership’s CRM.
  • Help increase repeat business by staying connected with customers and providing timely, personalized follow-up.
  • Work closely with Sales Management, and the Finance & Insurance team to ensure opportunities are properly followed through.
  • Consistently work toward portfolio, appointment, sales, customer retention, and other performance targets.
  • Perform additional responsibilities relevant to the position as assigned.
