About The Position

Customers Bank has an immediate opening for a Portfolio Manager on our Pennsylvania/New Jersey Middle Market Banking team. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing the loan and deposit portfolio for our Middle Market Banking clients, while also being client facing and a strategic part of building out the broader middle market client base. Success of the position will be measured based upon the achievement of the documented goals and objectives within the Middle Market Banking Team as they relate to this role. We are looking for a highly motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • College degree or 5 + years of equivalent banking experience
  • Prior commercial banking experience within the middle market, corporate banking and/or commercial real estate sectors.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Completion of a formal credit training program
  • Understanding of loan/depository documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Capital Markets, including Loan Syndications and Debt Capital Markets
  • Ability to manage time and complete assigned annual reviews in a timely manner
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Time management, Task prioritization, Multi-tasking, and Attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently and in a larger team environment
  • Ability to work with the Microsoft Suite and learn/work with other Customers Bank’s applications.
  • Salesforce and nCino experience
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future, to be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex commercial loan and deposit portfolio.
  • Customer interaction with current and new clients, obtaining all necessary documentation to meet annual underwriting/renewal and account opening standards.
  • Monitor and proactively manage all aspects of the loan and deposit portfolio including loan delinquency, loan reviews, renewals, managing interest rate plans and profitability tracking, while having strong communication with senior leadership at the bank.
  • Perform service requests on existing loans and deposits, working in concert with our loan operations and treasury services teams to ensure completion in a timely fashion.
  • Review and analyze financial statements.
  • Visit customers along with the Relationship Managers to establish and maintain positive relationships and cross sell other bank products and services.
  • Actively involved in the community with ability to represent the bank and for personal development.
