About The Position

Assist Relationship Managers in all aspects related to managing both new and existing commercial banking relationships. This role involves assisting in the implementation of new products or programs to enhance customer service and stimulate growth. The position requires performing analysis of credit reports, tax returns, financial statements, and cash flows, as well as pricing analysis. A key responsibility is proactively managing loan maturities and renewals, ensuring timely receipt of necessary documentation. The role also includes interviewing loan applicants, analyzing financial information, and making loan decisions based on available data and projections, adhering to lending authority guidelines. Additionally, the Portfolio Manager is expected to engage in community and industry activities to improve the bank's visibility and maintain an active role in community affairs. The position also contributes to plans for reducing past due loans and non-earning assets, and requires effective interaction and communication with all levels of bank personnel and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college with a concentration in accounting / finance preferred, or Equivalent business related experience.
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities and procedures, and meet established goals.
  • Strong personal leadership skills, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, both orally and written.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize financial information, make presentations of that information, communicate its contents, and make recommendations for appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to travel to various locations to meet with customers and bank personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of new products or programs to help provide better service to customers and stimulate new growth.
  • Perform analysis of credit reports, business and personal tax returns, financial statements, cash flows, and pricing analysis.
  • Proactively notify customers of upcoming loan maturities, renewals and other loan events, ensuring receipt of all necessary documentation to complete loan renewals in a timely manner.
  • Interview loan applicants, analyze financial information and make appropriate loan decisions based on facts and projections.
  • Abide by specified lending authority as dictated by the loan policy and procedures manual.
  • Engage in other outside activities consistent with the company's responsibilities in the community and the industry.
  • Maintain an active role in community affairs to improve the bank's visibility in the area.
  • Assist in plans to reduce total past dues loans and non-earning assets to a level determined by the Bank Leadership.
  • Interact effectively with all levels of bank personnel.
  • Efficiently communicate with bank customers, management, and department heads.
  • Participate in Loan Committee meetings when appropriate.
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with loan support staff.
  • Respond to inquiries or refer inquiries to the appropriate department or person, exhibiting the necessary follow through with customers and/or staff involved.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor.
