About The Position

VisionBank is seeking a Portfolio Manager to support the ongoing strength and performance of our commercial loan portfolio. This role partners closely with Commercial Lenders and regional leadership to ensure disciplined credit management, strong asset quality, and thoughtful growth that aligns with VisionBank’s community-focused mission. The Portfolio Manager serves as a trusted credit resource, providing insight, oversight, and proactive support to balance customer needs with sound risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial lending, portfolio management, or credit analysis, preferably in community or regional banking.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to travel to meet clients and to attend meetings at other locations using own transportation.
  • Must have strong understanding of financial statements, credit structures, and risk management principles.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor an assigned commercial loan portfolio to ensure credit quality, policy compliance, and portfolio performance.
  • Perform ongoing financial and credit analysis, including covenant tracking, risk rating accuracy, and trend identification.
  • Coordinate annual reviews, renewals, modifications, and extensions in partnership with Relationship Managers.
  • Support the commercial lending process through underwriting, policy knowledge, credit structuring, and risk assessment in credit request packages for assigned portfolio. Ensure packages are complete, accurate and properly documented.
  • Work directly with commercial lenders, treasury management and other team members to effectively grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue by presenting financial solutions to customers.
  • Analyzes financial information to evaluate the credit worthiness of new loan requests, renewal loan requests and on-going Portfolio Management activities through thorough and accurate analyses within the parameters of the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Accompanies lenders during sales calls to assist with account details, relationship building, and product recommendations.
  • Complete, when needed, additional credit analysis through more in-depth tools outside of the traditional spread and global cash flow.
  • Properly grade the risk of each loan in the assigned portfolio per policy.
  • Collaborate with lenders to identify areas of concern pertaining to a loan and in the management of maturing loans.
  • Monitor loan documentation and financial statement exception reports and follow-up to clear up document exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Prepare portfolio reporting and credit analysis for senior leadership and credit committee review.
  • Support loan review, audits, and regulatory examinations.
  • Collaborate with Credit Administration, Loan Operations, and Risk Management to ensure effective execution of tasks.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fair lending practices. Remain knowledgeable of all laws and regulations governing the lending activities of financial institutions. Ensure compliance with VisionBank’s loan policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Adheres to all State and Federal banking regulations.
