About The Position

This role sits within Strategic Portfolio Enablement & Decision Support in Scientific & In Vivo Strategies (SIS) and Preclinical Sciences & Translational Safety (PSTS) organizations and is responsible for enabling effective portfolio-level decision making. The role drives coordination, governance, and execution of core PSTS portfolio forums, ensuring leadership has clear, actionable insights to support timely, high-quality decisions. This includes end-to-end management of key portfolio meetings (Integrated Plan & Protocol Review (P3Rs), Functional Review, and Issues Resolution Forum) and associated decision support activities. This role operates across a complex, matrixed global environment and partners closely with scientific, operational, and leadership stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, clinical, or business discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, healthcare, or project/program management.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders through structured insights and decision support.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems in a structured, thoughtful manner.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific and operational information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex coordination, scheduling, and follow-up activities.
  • Experience with data analytics and KPI development; familiarity with dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in management, project management, or related field; advanced scientific degrees (DVM, VMD, MPH, PhD or related R&D-focused disciplines) strongly preferred.
  • Background in a scientific discipline relevant to pharmaceutical R&D (e.g., preclinical, translational sciences, or related fields).
  • Experience working with large, complex, global teams.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical R&D governance frameworks and preclinical operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in complex environments.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher).
  • Experience with project or scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Enable high-quality, timely decision-making by translating complex scientific and operational data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for leadership.
  • Support governance and alignment across PSTS through structured preparation and execution of portfolio forums.
  • Serve as Decision Support Lead (facilitating leadership decision-making through structured insights and coordination) and meeting coordinator for P3Rs, Functional Review (FR), and Issues Resolution Forum (IRF) meetings.
  • Partner with meeting chairs and stakeholders to ensure effective facilitation, alignment, and clear decision outcomes.
  • Ensure documentation and consistent follow-through of portfolio decisions through robust meeting minutes and action tracking.
  • Drive consistency, transparency, and readiness for downstream R&D governance and decision forums.
  • Influence decision-making without direct authority by aligning stakeholders and presenting structured recommendations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the PSTS Portfolio Mailbox, ensuring timely coordination, prioritization, and follow-up of requests.
  • Translate complex scheduling challenges into clear, structured solutions through a proactive, solution-oriented approach while balancing competing priorities across stakeholders.
  • Manage and optimize portfolio scheduling processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder experience.
  • Proactively plan and forecast PSTS portfolio activities to ensure readiness and alignment with broader DPDS and R&D governance timelines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce inefficiencies and enhance workflow coordination.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
