About The Position

Seeking a Portfolio Manager II or Senior Portfolio Manager with experience in the Farmer Mac program, real estate lending, and sales/business development. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to travel periodically throughout the Bank’s footprint to support customer relationships, business growth, and portfolio management. POSITION SUMMARY - Portfolio Manager II: Responsible for the growth and retention of assigned portfolio clients and collaborating with Relationship Managers to deepen and retain portfolio relationships. Through the cross selling of the bank’s products, services and forward-looking business planning to develop robust relationship service plans. Additional responsibilities will include the facilitating of comprehensive analysis that evaluates credit facilities in assigned portfolio to general income and maximize ROA. POSITION SUMMARY - Senior Portfolio Manager: Responsible for the growth and retention of assigned portfolio clients and collaborating with the Commercial Banking Regional Manager to deepen, retain and grow portfolio relationships. Through the cross-selling of the bank’s products, services and forward-looking business planning to develop robust relationship service plans. Additional responsibilities will include the facilitation of comprehensive analysis that evaluates credit facilities in assigned portfolio to generate income and maximize ROA.

Requirements

  • Experience in the Farmer Mac program, real estate lending, and sales/business development.
  • Ability to travel periodically throughout the Bank’s footprint.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to fully analyze and underwrite all types of loans.
  • Superior understanding and analysis of financial statements, collateral, DSCR and covenant compliance.
  • Review of credit risk rating and borrower/guarantor analysis.
  • Ability to assess changes, clearly identify offsetting mitigates and summarize recommendations.
  • Maintains a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (SARs, CIP, OFAC), Information Security (GLBA), Identity Theft Red Flags, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, and any other applicable regulations that may be specific to your job duties.
  • Financial analysis experience and credit training.
  • 5 years of related experience required within financial industry (for Portfolio Manager II).
  • 7 years of related experience required within financial industry (for Senior Portfolio Manager).
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
  • Effective presentation skills to C-Suite executives and organizations.
  • Experience with financial analysis programs and discounted cash flow models.
  • Good interpersonal skills, team oriented, and strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of financial literacy (for Senior Portfolio Manager).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration, preferred (for Portfolio Manager II).
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration, recommended (for Senior Portfolio Manager).

Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for assigned Commercial or Business relationships across the banks’ footprint, to proactively retain and expand through regular contact.
  • Provide preliminary analysis and information for annual reviews, renewals, and new relationships brought into the Bank.
  • May provide underwriting for annual reviews, renewals, and new relationships brought into the Bank.
  • Monitors and assists with the relationships’ profitability, retention and growth, responding timely to portfolio balance changes up to and including financial ticklers and covenant management.
  • Maintain a loan portfolio, minimizing risk and maintaining delinquencies and weak loans according to Bank policy.
  • Recommends and models appropriate loan structure for expanding relationships.
  • Ensures all documentation necessary for completion of loan package is acquired.
  • Coordinates with appropriate business partner, CLRM or Relationship Manager to identify customers for expansion and retention opportunities, focusing on value-added expertise.
  • Conducts quarterly, semi-annual or annual business reviews, working closely with business partners, Branch Manager or Relationship Manager for historical financial reports, industry outlook resources and bench marking data for current and future financial solutions.
  • Actively participates in research, preparation and understanding customer relationship and changes in the industry.
  • Understands the Bank’s products and services and support Tri Counties’ strong Service with Solutions culture.
  • Proactively identifies referral opportunities and introduces other business lines.
  • Facilitate underwriting for annual reviews, renewals and expansion relationships within portfolio.
  • Maintain a complex loan portfolio, minimizing risk and maintaining delinquencies and weak loans according to Bank policy.
  • Perform duties alongside Credit Administration associated with commercial banking relationships by analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests and recommend structure as well as aggressively managing the customer relationship.
