About The Position

Responsible for analyzing credit portfolio limits and stress testing to ensure a balance between risk and reward and alignment with the company’s risk appetite. Developing and applying advanced methodologies for limit setting within the credit portfolio by factoring in industry trends, regulatory standards, and internal risk appetite; maintaining and evaluating comprehensive risk profiles, coordinating with regulatory bodies, conducting regular portfolio health checks, and proactively identifying top risk factors. Performing regular portfolio analysis and providing updates on portfolio performance, market trends, and risk factors to support ongoing risk assessment and mitigation; participating in governance discussions by interpreting limit governance rules and supporting activities related to single-name and distribution risk to ensure regulatory compliance. Representing and coordinating second line of defense risk appetite engagement through effective communication of risk statements and assessments; executing and maintaining the end-to-end framework for credit reserve adequacy and stress testing to support proper credit portfolio risk management. Examining, challenging, and validating new account strategies and account management developments to perform robust risk checks and minimize potential risk exposure. Conducting internal and oversight reviews of processes and controls, including participation in internal audits and regulatory examinations. Assessing risk in business decision-making by applying advanced analytical skills to evaluate potential risks and protect the firm’s reputation. Ensuring ethical conduct and compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements by critically reviewing and challenging activities and processes; monitoring industry trends and communicating analytical insights to stakeholders to support complex business decisions. Applying emerging credit risk analysis trends to improve forecasting and allowance calculations. Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of compliance processes related to credit portfolio limits through subject-matter expertise. Providing independent oversight and analytical challenge of first-line-of-defense portfolio management processes. Proactively identifying opportunities to streamline work and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and operational effectiveness. Taking accountability for identifying, escalating, and managing potential risks and implementing controls that improve client experience. Anticipating issues and developing solutions that address root causes and drive meaningful improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field, and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or in a related finance occupation supporting business risk and controls programs to ensure proper governance and controls exist for global risk management operations.
  • Six (6) years of experience must include: Developing, designing and implementing enhanced end-to-end risk rating processes for Wholesale Credit portfolios; Performing Issue Management and supporting and coordinating projects related to the end-to-end process of identifying, raising, remediating, and closing gaps related to risk rating frameworks and practices; Implementing governance of risk rating policy standard and operating procedures; and Developing of new or existing controls, monitoring, reporting, and escalation practices to address data quality concerns and ensure adherence to policy, standards, and operating procedures.
  • In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience.
