Portfolio CEO: Residential Electrical Services
About The Position
American Operator is seeking an experienced operator to lead a profitable, established residential electrical services company as CEO, in partnership with American Operator. This role offers a unique opportunity to take over a business with a strong reputation, loyal customer base, and an experienced team. The CEO will be responsible for day-to-day operations, team leadership, and P&L performance, with a focus on building and retaining a great team, driving customer acquisition and growth, executing with operational discipline, and scaling the business. American Operator will provide strategic support, resources, and guidance, and the CEO will have a clear path to earning significant equity ownership.
Requirements
- 10+ years of leadership experience
- Hold an active master electrician license with a strong understanding of residential electrical codes and requirements
- Ability to audit your teams work on panel upgrades, service replacements, circuit installations, surge protection, generator installations, EV charger installations, and lighting upgrades
- Experience building high performance teams with accountability for hiring and performance improvement
- Currently located in or a willingness to relocate to one of our target markets (Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Colorado, or Tennessee)

- Stepped in as the new leader after an ownership or leadership transition and earned the trust of the existing electricians
- A track record of driving growth as a general manager or VP of an electrical services company

- Grow the business with a focus on key performance metrics as you lead day-to-day operations
- Develop and lead electricians and office staff with a culture of high accountability and performance
- Ensure the team delivers safe, high quality, on-time service to homeowners
- Win and retain customers through service quality, local reputation, and disciplined pricing
- Partner with American Operator on strategy, budgeting, and growth planning
