About The Position

Valnet is seeking a Portfolio Associate to own the commercial, financial, and operational performance of our Travel brands. This role blends strategic P&L ownership with hands-on execution across revenue, content, audience growth, and product monetization. You will act as the central operator for your brand(s), driving profitability, scaling commerce initiatives, and evolving the business from a single-site model into a diversified, multi-surface ecosystem. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and optimization.

Requirements

  • 1–5 years of experience in digital publishing, e-commerce, portfolio management, performance marketing, strategy, or operations.
  • Proven experience owning revenue initiatives and driving measurable growth.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen
  • Deep understanding of content monetization, audience development, and digital growth models.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end P&L performance at the EBITDA level by uncovering revenue upside and tightening cost efficiency.
  • Own and grow revenue channels spanning commerce, affiliate, newsletters, sponsorships, and emerging streams.
  • Productize repeatable business plays — commerce hubs, newsletters, evergreen content franchises, and conversion-driven landing pages.
  • Source, activate, and nurture direct affiliate partnerships that bring in qualified traffic and convert at scale.
  • Design and refine high-intent funnels spanning websites, newsletters, landing pages, and utility tools.
  • Team up with performance marketing and sales counterparts to lift RPM, CVR, retention, and customer lifetime value.
  • Weave commerce and sponsorship placements into the experience without compromising reader trust or editorial standards.
  • Partner with editorial leadership to connect content priorities to audience intent, conversion outcomes, and growth targets.
  • Shape scalable content and commerce formats that streamline reader decisions and lift monetization.
  • Steer the shift from a one-site footprint into a layered, multi-surface brand ecosystem.
  • Run point on newsletter programming, audience segmentation, growth loops, and ongoing optimization.
  • Direct budget allocation toward initiatives that compound growth and protect long-term margins.
  • Track KPIs across revenue, traffic, engagement, and conversion, translating data into clear reports and concrete next steps.
  • Safeguard tracking accuracy, link health, and performance visibility across every template and product surface.
  • Sharpen processes, tighten workflows, and accelerate execution across teams over time.
  • Operate as the day-to-day owner and strategic anchor for the brand(s) under your remit.
  • Coordinate across Editorial, Product, Sales, Performance Marketing, and Leadership to keep priorities aligned.
  • Cultivate a team culture grounded in ownership, experimentation, and measurable outcomes.
  • Apply AI tooling confidently to streamline reporting and accelerate analysis.
  • Stand up lightweight agents and automated workflows that compress analytical turnaround.
  • Push decision-making speed and insight quality forward on a rolling basis.
