About The Position

The Portfolio Analyst is responsible for a wide range of prospect management tasks including pipeline development, portfolio optimization, prospect assignment strategy, and ensuring portfolios align with organizational policy and fundraising objectives. This role will help maintain the integrity and effective use of prospect and portfolio data while supporting a data-driven fundraising program. The Portfolio Analyst will manage the distribution of prospects and donors to gift officer portfolios and serve as a strategic partner to frontline fundraisers by facilitating portfolio consultations, presenting data-informed recommendations, and identifying opportunities to advance prospects through the fundraising pipeline. The Analyst will work closely with gift officers to prioritize their top prospects, strengthen portfolios, and accelerate revenue outcomes. Working in partnership with the Data Analytics and Information Technology teams, the Analyst will leverage the CRM system, dashboards, and reporting tools to transform portfolio data into actionable fundraising insights. The Analyst will also identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to improve portfolio analysis, reporting, operational efficiency, and fundraising effectiveness. To be successful, this individual must be highly analytical, collaborative, and relationship-oriented, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid position with an in office requirement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience in prospect research, fundraising database management, donor strategy, portfolio management, or a related field
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data to develop recommendations and support decision-making.
  • Ability to follow ethical standards and exercise discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access and other web-based applications.
  • Experience with fundraising databases (Salesforce preferred)
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to present insights and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Project management interest or experience, including developing project plans and timelines, managing competing priorities, coordinating deliverables, and tracking progress.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience leveraging CRM systems, dashboards, and business intelligence tools to transform data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Exceptional writing skills and rigorous attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Interest in identifying opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency through technology and automation.
