About The Position

The Portfolio Analyst I supports the ongoing monitoring and management of a commercial loan portfolio. This role is responsible for financial analysis, covenant tracking, portfolio reporting, and maintaining accurate credit and loan information. The Portfolio Analyst I works closely with Portfolio Managers, Credit Administration, Loan Operations, and Relationship Managers to identify potential risks, ensure compliance with credit policies, and support the overall quality and performance of the loan portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, portfolio management, banking, or financial services
  • Basic understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and commercial lending concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Monitor assigned loan relationships for covenant compliance, financial reporting requirements, maturities, and other credit conditions
  • Analyze borrower financial statements and spreading information to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support periodic credit reviews and portfolio assessments
  • Maintain accurate credit files, loan documentation, and portfolio data across internal systems
  • Assist with loan modifications, extensions, renewals, amendments, and annual review processes
  • Prepare portfolio reports, risk monitoring reports, and management summaries
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve documentation, servicing, and operational issues
  • Identify and escalate potential credit concerns, exceptions, or policy violations
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and assist with developing procedures and job aids
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards
