About The Position

Fortress Investment Group LLC is seeking a Credit Portfolio Accountant in Dallas, Texas. The role maintains accounting records for special purpose vehicles (SPVs) across Credit Funds and reviews transactional activity and monthly reporting. The accountant works with operations staff, fund administrators, and auditors, and supports external reporting, audited financial statements, and improvements to accounting and reporting procedures. The position also contributes to ad-hoc special projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of public accounting and/or private accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting systems, US GAAP, journal entries, financial statement preparation, procedures, and controls.
• Track record of delivering accurate and timely accounting information and reports.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong quantitative skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Able to interact with internal and external groups with presence and poise.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the financial industry or with hedge funds.
• Familiarity with waterfall models.
• CPA license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records for various SPVs across the Credit Funds.
• Review transactional activity booked by Operations staff on a bi-weekly basis.
• Coordinate and review monthly reporting with the fund administrator.
• Coordinate with auditors on deliverables and assist with preparing financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules for audited vehicles.
• Prepare financial statements for external reporting.
• Assist with enhancing accounting and reporting procedures.
• Assist with ad-hoc special projects.
