About The Position

North Jersey Friendship House is urgently hiring a porter for a janitorial position in Cedar Knolls, NJ. The ideal candidate will be friendly, a self-starter, and able to take direction well. The Porter will be responsible for cleaning areas of the building to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Requirements

Minimum: 1-year previous janitorial experience preferred.
Ability to handle multiple projects.
MUST have reliable transportation to and from the work site.

Responsibilities

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Gather and empty trash.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using specific cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Any other duties deemed necessary for the cleanliness of the building.
