About The Position

The Porter position at Cosmopolitan Condominiums is a full-time role focused on maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the property. This role involves providing excellent customer service to residents, assisting with light maintenance tasks, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. The Porter may also be asked to support the concierge desk, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist in various capacities.

Requirements

  • Three to six months of previous customer service experience.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility within the role; may be asked to watch the front desk at times.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months or more of maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide light maintenance support, including taking out garbage/recycle dumpsters, checking spa chemicals, cleaning the spa, and cleaning building walks.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the property.
  • Move and arrange furniture.
  • Ensure storage areas are neat and organized.
  • Maintain inventory of housekeeping and maintenance supplies and communicate damage or shortages to the supervisor.
  • Sweep and clean designated floors and sidewalks.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empty and transport all trash and waste to the disposal area, following recycling procedures.
  • Report damages, lost items, or anything unusual or suspicious.
  • Report and address unsafe conditions or security concerns immediately to the GM or Manager on Duty.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents and team members.
  • Respond to all resident and guest requests in an expeditious, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Ensure concierge workspaces and storage areas are clean and organized.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident information and pertinent building data.
  • Demonstrate proper bending and lifting techniques to ensure health and safety.
  • Respond to calls for spill cleanup and trash removal.
  • Respond to calls for cleaning or straightening of public or back-of-house areas.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures.
  • Exceed resident expectations by being responsive, engaged, and following through on all requests.
  • Work with others as needed and maintain ongoing communication with all team members.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Columbia Hospitality values and mission.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
