About The Position

The Porter is responsible for maintaining buildings, offices, public areas, and other assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition. This includes routine cleaning of the main casino floor, smoke eaters, tables, ashtrays, office areas, and restrooms. The role also involves sweeping and mopping hallways and stairs, emptying trash, dusting, and cleaning the inside of the building. The Porter may occasionally assist with cleaning hotel restrooms, the hotel lobby, and hotel rooms to ensure guest satisfaction, as well as assisting with laundry. The position requires effective communication with staff and other departments, safeguarding company assets, and complying with all relevant policies and safety procedures. The Porter is expected to work respectfully as part of a team, ensure guest satisfaction, protect assets, and adhere to professional appearance standards, including reporting to work on time and maintaining personal cleanliness.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.
  • Flexibility with work shifts and days off.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Enthusiastic.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet all non-supervisory training and education requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans assigned areas and ensures that areas are free of clutter.
  • Performs routine cleaning of the main casino floor, smoke eaters, tables, ashtrays, office areas, restrooms, etc.
  • Sweeps and mops hallways and stairs.
  • Empties trash and garbage containers.
  • Dusts and cleans the inside of the building.
  • Assists with cleaning of hotel restrooms and hotel lobby.
  • Occasionally assists hotel housekeeping with rooms to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Occasionally assists with laundry.
  • Communicates and networks effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
  • Safeguards and accounts for the assets of the owners.
  • Complies with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
  • Monitors the casino environment and follows established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
  • Works respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
  • Reports to work on time and as required in professional attire, displays a high level of personal cleanliness and follows personal appearance standards.
  • Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Notifies supervisor of need for repairs.
  • Ensures any chemicals used are properly labeled in accordance to MSDS information and company procedures.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
