About The Position

The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of two multi-family apartment communities, The Park at Fifth and Arcade Apartments. This role involves performing janitorial services, general maintenance, and assisting with resident needs to ensure a high standard of community satisfaction and asset preservation. The position requires reliable transportation to travel between properties as needed.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation
  • 1+ years of relevant porter and groundskeeping experience
  • General knowledge of various janitorial services including sweeping, mopping, trash pickup, vacuuming, and dusting
  • Demonstrates teamwork, good hygiene, ethical behavior and integrity, excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to multi-task, resolve conflicts, engage in cost/benefit analytical decision-making, and ambition for continuous professional development

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Fair Housing and Equal Housing Opportunities requirements, state landlord/tenant statutes, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Attend training and development seminars.
  • Communicate daily with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager, and perform tasks as requested.
  • Ensure the building is in accordance with all applicable building codes, ordinances, pool safety, fire codes, and emergency evacuation regulations.
  • Perform regularly scheduled inspections of all common areas.
  • Ensure preventative repairs are done on a regular basis.
  • Perform janitorial services for the interior and exterior of the building, including sweeping, mopping, trash pickup, pet waste removal, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Operate a leaf blower and pressure washer.
  • Assist in maintenance duties as assigned by Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Promote community member satisfaction by maintaining a high standard of community cleanliness and curb appeal.
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces as necessary.
  • Interact with current and future community members in a professional, courteous, and non-discriminatory manner.
