About The Position
CareOne at New Milford is seeking a Porter to maintain the facility by cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing. This role involves removing trash, refreshing bath areas, cleaning floors and furnishings, and maintaining supplies and equipment. The Porter will ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment and contribute to the overall upkeep of the facility, which serves various care settings including Long Term Care, Short Term Rehab, Skilled Nursing, and Sub Acute Care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year of related experience
Responsibilities
- Maintains the facility by cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing.
- Removes miscellaneous debris by removing trash.
- Refreshes bath area by cleaning toilet, and sinks; refilling hand towel and toilet paper dispensers.
- Cleans floors by washing and vacuuming floors.
- Maintains furnishings by dusting and polishing furniture; cleaning and polishing glass surfaces.
- Keeps supplies ready by restocking housekeeping supplies; ordering new supplies as needed.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with security regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Enhances housekeeping reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
