About The Position

The Lou Fusz Automotive Network is looking for a dependable, hardworking Service Department Porter to join our team. The Service Porter plays an important role in creating a positive customer experience by keeping the service drive organized, moving vehicles efficiently, and assisting the Service Department with day-to-day operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work, and wants to become part of a team where there are opportunities to learn and grow. This is a union position governed by the Automotive, Petroleum and Allied Industries Employees Union, Local 618.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to safely operate both automatic and manual-transmission vehicles is preferred.
  • Previous dealership, automotive, porter, detailing, or customer service experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Move customer vehicles to and from service bays, parking areas, and other designated locations.
  • Pick up and deliver customer vehicles as needed.
  • Assist Service Advisors and Technicians with vehicle movement and parking.
  • Perform vehicle walk-arounds and assist with documenting vehicle condition when required.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient service drive.
  • Keep customer parking areas, service lanes, and work areas clean and presentable.
  • Retrieve customer vehicles when repairs or services are completed.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with vehicle check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of loaner and company vehicles.
  • Fuel vehicles and maintain appropriate fuel levels as needed.
  • Assist with basic vehicle cleaning, including removing trash and personal items and cleaning windows.
  • Transport parts, paperwork, keys, and other items throughout the dealership as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and organized service department.
  • Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, Service Advisors, Technicians, and other dealership employees.
  • Protect customer vehicles by following proper procedures when moving and parking vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
