About The Position

The Vehicle Detailer is responsible for the thorough cleaning, polishing, and presentation of both new and used vehicles. This position plays a critical role in maintaining high standards for vehicle appearance and supporting a positive customer experience by ensuring vehicles are showroom-ready, properly reconditioned, and meticulously prepared for customer delivery.

Requirements

  • Strong eye for cleanliness, polish, and presentation.
  • Ability to complete multiple vehicles per day while maintaining quality.
  • Skilled with polishers, buffers, vacuums, and detailing chemicals.
  • Work closely with reconditioning, sales, and service teams.
  • Clearly report any vehicle concerns or transport damage.
  • Capable of working in a physically active role, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing.
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate detailing tools and materials effectively and safely.
  • Maintain high standards and trust in handling vehicles and supplies.
  • Ensure each vehicle is completed to dealership standards.
  • Support sales and service departments with timely, quality detailing.
  • Open to training, feedback, and learning new techniques.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere with enthusiasm and pride in your work.
  • Prior detailing experience preferred, but not required—training provided.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Detail both new and used vehicles, ensuring showroom-quality presentation at all times.
  • Remove transportation protection film (TPF) and clean new vehicles upon arrival.
  • Inspect new vehicle arrivals and report any transportation damage to the appropriate manager.
  • Complete vehicle delivery washes or touch-ups for sold units, ensuring they meet customer expectations.
  • Fuel vehicles as needed for display, test drives, and customer delivery.
  • Wash, wax, and polish exteriors by hand or with polishing/buffing tools.
  • Vacuum, shampoo, and deep clean vehicle interiors including carpets, seats, and hard surfaces.
  • Apply protective treatments to fabric, leather, paint, and glass.
  • Clean and dress tires, wheels, and exterior trim.
  • Conduct light scratch removal, buffing, and polishing to restore finish quality.
  • Perform final quality control inspections to confirm all standards are met.
  • Report any damages or reconditioning needs discovered during the detailing process.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the detail bay and keep detailing supplies stocked.
  • Assist with lot organization, photo prep, and staging when requested.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and guidelines when using chemicals or equipment.
