The Port Engineer will provide shore-side engineering support to the fleet, covering mechanical, electrical, HVAC, general repairs, and technical assistance. This role involves supervising, coaching, and training shore-side mechanics and vessel engineers. The Port Engineer will also be responsible for specifying machinery and equipment for replacements and new construction, developing maintenance and repair projections, and formulating dry-docking plans in coordination with Port Captains and Project Managers. Responsibilities include visiting vessels for repair and preventive maintenance planning, assisting in advanced troubleshooting, communicating and coordinating work with other departments, and traveling as needed to vessels and shipyards, including out-of-town stays. The role also requires observing and enforcing safety rules and procedures, conducting performance evaluations for vessel engineers, managing maintenance budgets, and direct engagement in the Engineer Trainee Program.
