About The Position

Avaneer Dental Lab is a full-service dental laboratory known for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern digital technology to support dental practices with high-quality restorative and prosthetic products. With locations in Warren, MI and Lakeland, FL, Avaneer Dental Lab successfully serves Dental practices with a wide range of dental lab solutions. The Porcelain Technician at Avaneer Dental (Warren) is responsible for the contouring, shaping, and finishing of high-quality anterior and posterior restorations, ensuring accurate morphology, occlusion, and lifelike esthetics. This role requires expertise in porcelain layering techniques to achieve consistent shade, translucency, and texture, while performing quality control checks to meet internal and clinician standards. The technician balances precision with efficiency to meet production goals, adapts to digital workflows as needed, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and support the training and development of junior technicians.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a porcelain technician, with expertise in contouring and morphology
  • Strong ability to mimic natural dentition, especially in anterior esthetics
  • Ability to achieve highly esthetic, functional restorations with minimal error
  • Capable of maintaining efficiency while producing consistent, high quality work
  • Ability to troubleshoot esthetic and functional challenges independently

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with stain and glaze techniques, digital ceramics and CAD/CAM ceramics preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Contour, shape, and refine anterior and posterior restorations to achieve natural esthetics and accurate occlusal function
  • Apply advanced morphology and anatomical principles to create highly functional, lifelike porcelain restorations
  • Execute porcelain layering techniques to ensure consistent shade, translucency, and surface texture
  • Perform quality control checks on all restorations to meet internal standards and clinician expectations
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to minimize adjustments and ensure case accuracy before delivery
  • Maintain productivity by balancing efficiency with precision to meet production timelines and turnaround goals
  • Follow established workflows and adapt to digital processes, including CAD/CAM integrations, as needed
  • Partner with ceramic team members, cross-functional departments, and leadership to improve workflows and outcomes
  • Stay current on advancements in porcelain materials, techniques, and dental technology
  • Support training and development of junior technicians to promote consistency and best practices across the team
