About The Position

The Medical Assistant – Population Health Outreach is a member of the Population Health Team who performs telephonic outreach to Jefferson patients in order to help facilitate preventive and chronic care services, including but limited to mammograms, colorectal cancer screening, diabetic services, etc. Outreach is primarily telephonic and patient portal based, but may also include in-person events. The position is remote with ad hoc in-office work as needed. The office location is Center City Philadelphia.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Certification and 3+ years of clinical experience is required.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Primary care experience is preferred.
  • Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
  • BLS through the America Red Cross may be acceptable at some Pennsylvania practice locations.
  • For NJ Only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program which includes, at a minimum, 330 hours of instruction and encompasses training in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
  • For internal Einstein applicants only: Medical Assistant certification is not required if a current Einstein employee in a current Medical Assistant role with a hire date prior to 7/1/2024 when transferring within Einstein entities.

Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians as they assess, examine and treat patients.
  • Patient flow management.
  • Performs various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and vitals.
  • Acts as liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Maintains and orders supplies for their area as needed.
  • Performs telephonic outreach to patients to facilitate preventive and chronic care services.
  • Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
  • Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and to facilitate smooth operations of the office.
