About The Position

The Population Health & Community Engagement Intern will support WRMC's work to improve health outcomes in the neighborhoods we serve. The role spans community partnership development, anchor mission programming, and population health initiatives tied to the White Rock Cares foundation pillar. This is an ideal role for a student interested in public health, community health, health equity, or non-profit management who wants to see how a community hospital translates mission into measurable impact.

Requirements

Current undergraduate (rising junior or senior) or graduate student in public health, community health, health administration, social work, non-profit management, communications, or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable interacting with community members, partners, and hospital staff
Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of East Dallas communities

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

Support planning and execution of community health events, health fairs, and school and university partnership activities
Help map community health needs and social determinants in East Dallas; identify service gaps and opportunities for WRMC to respond
Research peer hospitals' anchor mission and community benefit programs to identify best practices and benchmarks
Develop outreach materials, event recaps, and internal summaries for hospital leadership
Coordinate with partner organizations (local schools, universities, community non-profits, faith-based groups) on joint programming
Support foundation activities tied to the White Rock Cares pillar, including donor outreach and event logistics
Track participation, outcomes, and community benefit metrics for programs
