About The Position

The ideal candidate will assist the Restaurant Manager with the management of the restaurant, maintaining high standards of food and beverage quality and service to maximize profits through outstanding customer service. This role involves training, supervising, and disciplining staff, organizing and conducting pre-shift meetings, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards. The Pool Supervisor will also oversee equipment maintenance, facility appearance, and product quality, while interacting with guests to resolve complaints and ensure satisfaction. Additionally, the role includes managing inventory, overseeing dining and service areas, developing new menus, and promoting cross-selling of hotel outlets. The Pool Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with all hotel policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of room service operations including foods, beverage, supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction.
Knowledge of beverage operations and wines.
Strong mathematical abilities in order to determine and track inventory, controls, revenue productions, and other hotel financial statements.
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.
High School graduate or equivalent required.
At least one year experience in related field preferred.
Food Service Sanitation certification.
Alcohol Service permit (if state required).
Proven team player willing to roll up your sleeves - a good leader should be willing and able to do whatever he or she asks of their team!
Must exemplify the highest standards in honesty, integrity, humility and leadership.
Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.

Nice To Haves

Four-year college degree preferred.
CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Train, supervise, counsel and discipline staff for the efficient operation of the outlets.
Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes.
Schedule and direct staff in their work assignments.
Ensure that the restaurant complies with sanitation and safety standards for Guests and employees.
Ensure that all equipment is in working order.
Visually inspect and take corrective action to ensure that facilities in the restaurant look appealing and attractive to guests.
Provide guidance for improvement and implement necessary adjustments.
Oversee work orders to ensure repairs and maintenance of the facility are completed on a timely basis.
Manage and monitor product quality and guest satisfaction in the restaurant.
Ensure that food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications.
Move throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take corrective action to ensure food quality and service standards are met.
Verify temperatures, judge appearance and taste of products, and check preparation methods to determine quality.
Provide guidance for improvement and implement necessary adjustments.
Interact with guests to obtain feedback on quality of service and food in the outlet.
Investigate and resolve guest complaints in a timely manner.
Document inventory forecast usage and monitor supply so that restaurants are stocked with linen, glassware, silverware, china, condiments and other items necessary to provide appropriate customer service.
Oversee set up of dining and service areas.
Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer satisfaction of breakfast, room service and barista; recommend new marketing and/or operational policies and procedures when necessary to keep up with demand and market changes; investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints.
Interact positively with customers.
Ensure compliance with all The Boca Raton Hotels policies and procedures that relate to breakfast, room service and barista as well as all local, state and federal laws and regulations; ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation of all work and service areas.
Participate in the development, implementation and marketing of new and creative menus; promote the cross-selling of other hotel outlets and The Boca Raton hotels.
Assist the General Manager in building and managing a team of FOH and BOH team members.
Implement, oversee, and maintain all company policies and procedures.

Create a forecast and budget for all controllable costs.
Maintain standards according to DOH, fire safety, and employment regulations.
