About The Position

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, as our new Pool Server Attendant. This role is primarily responsible for assisting servers and bartenders, requiring a highly motivated, energetic individual with great communication skills. The position involves ensuring readiness for service, supporting colleagues with pre-shift duties, and contributing to a flawless dining experience through exceptional food, service, decor, and presentation. The Server Attendant acts as a crucial communication link between the kitchen and Front of House staff, expedites dishes, provides table maintenance, and assists bartenders with setup and restocking. Responsibilities also include breakdown and clean-up of service areas, ensuring all items are properly stored and areas are tidy for the next day.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar restaurant environment preferred.
  • Food Handlers Card required.
  • RBS Certification required.
  • High School graduate
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
  • Knowledge of Restaurant operations, its services, and facilities.
  • Must have superior guest service abilities as well as a complete understanding of California serving guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Display a congenial appearance and is well groomed at all times.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and detail-oriented qualities are necessary.
  • Ensure all setups are ready for service according to standards.
  • Assist service to colleagues in completing pre-shift duties; including polishing all serving trays, setup of the bar area for service, polish buckets and additional side duties as outlined in the pre-shift duties list.
  • Assist staff in delivering a flawless dining experience, consistently providing exceptional food, superlative service, elegant decor and exquisite presentations.
  • Uphold service standards and see them through time after time.
  • Communication through the kitchen to the Front of House staff and vice versa.
  • Expedite the completed dishes to the service area.
  • Provide table maintenance to servers.
  • Assist bartenders with set-up, glass polishing, and restocking of bar items.
  • Assist service colleagues in breakdown and clean-up of service areas; i.e. all coffee and espresso service replaced and cleaned, all service items placed in storage areas, service trays cleaned and stored, bar area neat and tidy for next day's service.
