About The Position

STARS is seeking a Pool Pilot for their Aviation department, to be based at any of their 6 bases. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and may involve travel to any STARS base with less than 24 hours' notice to serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC). Pool Pilots may be required to work at any STARS base for up to 14 days, with potential extensions up to 42 days at a time due to operational needs. The position requires availability for the AH145 training course starting August 1, 2026. Being a Pilot with STARS involves more than just flying; it's about being a symbol of hope during critical times. Pilots receive extensive, ongoing annual training to maintain peak performance and readiness for any conditions.

Requirements

Current aircraft captain or eligible to upgrade to captain in 6 months
A valid Commercial Rotary Wing Licence
A minimum of 1000 hours of helicopter experience
Helicopter Airline Transport Licence exams completed
Group 4 Instrument rating and Helicopter Night Ratings are required
Valid Class 1 medical
Ability to successfully complete the Controlled Goods Security Assessment Application for Night Vision Goggle purposes
Immunization records with required vaccinations
The position requires the applicant to work a schedule of day and night shifts to make our 24/7/365 patient care mission possible

Nice To Haves

Multi-Engine and Night/IFR experience desirable
Airbus H145 type rating will be considered an asset
