About The Position

The Pool Monitor is responsible for maintaining the appearance and upkeep of the pool area, ensuring pool maintenance is performed, providing customer service, and adhering to safety protocols. This role requires constant outdoor work in seasonal temperatures and involves monitoring individuals entering and leaving the pool area, enforcing rules, and responding to incidents. The Pool Monitor must also be able to work with little supervision and maintain a state of alertness and safety.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • CPR certification.
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification.
  • Must be able to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instruction.
  • Comfortable talking to residents with good communication skills.
  • Reliable.
  • Must have flexibility to respond to pool needs during non-business hours.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Frequent standing and walking, as well as occasional sitting.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional squatting, reaching, stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, and balancing.
  • If job includes or may include driving for company business: Driver must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record with company insurance carrier.
  • Driver must have reliable means of transportation.
  • Driver must provide proof of personal auto liability insurance when using vehicles for company business.

Responsibilities

  • Sweeping the pool deck and all surrounding areas daily as needed.
  • Straightening pool furniture regularly.
  • Ensuring furniture is clean and in working order at all times.
  • Pulling weeds in common pool areas as needed.
  • Testing and balancing pool chemicals and documentation as required by state and local regulations.
  • Cleaning, skimming, and vacuuming the pool and backwashing pool filters.
  • Ensuring bathrooms are kept clean, stocked with supplies, and are free of standing water.
  • Ensuring safety equipment is present and in working order.
  • Checking first aid kit(s) for needed supplies daily.
  • Daily set up and closing of the pool deck area.
  • Ensuring all posted rules are being adhered to.
  • Monitoring individuals entering and leaving the pool area.
  • Ensuring state capacity is not exceeded.
  • Contacting emergency responders or police (911) immediately for any occurrences beyond scope, including emergency incidents, acts of aggression or violence, or illegal activity.
  • Notifying community management of any individuals who are excessively violating the posted pool rules.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
