About The Position

The Recreation Director will oversee the performance and operations of a recreational facility. They will manage staff and must make sure that they hire the right people for the right activities. They conduct performance evaluations in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures and forms at an expert level.
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques at an expert level.
  • Knowledge of State of local governmental safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of general office equipment (copier, fax, phone systems, etc.).
  • Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.).
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
  • Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a expert level.
  • Time management and time critical prioritization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish fluent)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recreation events to ensure that they meet specific goals, guests’ interests and needs and corporate philosophies.
  • Manage, develop and lead recreation staff by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and reviewing the performance of all staff employees.
  • Develop, plan, and implement enjoyable programs and activities for guests to promote fitness, wellness and enrichment.
  • Keep records to improve future recreation planning, documenting guest reception and participation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
