About The Position

The Club at Rolling Hills is seeking an experienced and service-focused Seasonal Pool Manager to lead our aquatics operations during the summer season (mid-May through mid-September). This role serves as the subject matter expert on pool safety, lifeguarding, and daily aquatics operations. The Pool Manager is responsible for supervising lifeguards, swim instructors, and pool entry staff while ensuring the highest standards of safety, service, and facility care. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates sound judgment, and maintains a proactive approach to risk management and team development.

Requirements

  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required.
  • Lifeguard Management certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lifeguarding techniques, aquatics safety, and pool operations.
  • Knowledge of health codes and pool chemical management practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and staff development skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and remain calm in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Required availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to commit to the full seasonal schedule (mid-May through mid-September).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and pool entry staff to ensure safety and service standards are consistently met.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to maintain proper coverage at all times.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate aquatics staff to support performance and safety standards.
  • Provide lifeguard coverage, teach swim lessons, and assist with pool entry operations as needed.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support aquatics programs, special events, and swim/dive meets.
  • Facilitate communication between members, coaches, and staff related to aquatics activities.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper appearance.
  • Oversee daily pool operations including chemical testing, equipment checks, and safety readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records including incident reports, safety logs, training documentation, and operational checklists.
  • Ensure first aid supplies, rescue equipment, and safety systems are properly stocked and maintained.
  • Communicate maintenance needs, safety concerns, and operational issues promptly to leadership.
  • Promote accident prevention through enforcement of policies, education, and proactive supervision.
  • Review and respond to incident and accident reports, escalating serious matters as required.
  • Provide exceptional member and guest service while resolving concerns professionally.
  • Assist with seasonal opening, daily operations, and winterization preparation of the facility.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and complete additional assignments as directed by leadership.
