About The Position

Pool Maintenance Staff are responsible for providing a safe and clean aquatic facilities for pool patrons. Supervisor: Pool Maintenance Staff reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Parks & Properties.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to operate Park District vehicles.
Handling Park District materials up to 100 pounds.
Assistance will be provided when necessary.
Resolve differences and problems that arise with patrons and work together with employees.
The Pool Maintenance Worker must exhibit good problem solving ability and good judgment in keeping with the mission of the Park District.
May be exposed to elements when working.
Varying conditions include lighting and temperature changes.

Nice To Haves

Experience in aquatics and/or maintenance work preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
Clean the bathhouse daily: floors, toilets, sinks, mirrors, lockers etc.
Vacuum the pools daily.
Maintain a clean pool and concession decks.
Empty all deck garbage containers as needed.
Keep all dispensers fully stocked in bathhouse, concession stand, First Aid etc.
Perform general maintenance tasks as requested by Supervisor.
Conduct routine inspections of the pool equipment and park amenities.
Report any broken items to the Assistant Superintendent of Parks & Properties.
Understand the Park District’s safety procedures and requirements. This includes completion and follow-through on all accident reports, emergency safety procedures, reporting of hazardous equipment, facilities, or conditions and the conduct of any employees under their supervision.
Report all incidents and potential hazards to the safety committee as soon as possible.
Perform other general Park District duties as assigned.
Assist all employees of the Park District as needed.
