About The Position

Join our team as a Pool Lifeguard and help ensure the safety and enjoyment of pool patrons at City of Hampton Aquaplex. This position plays a vital role in public safety by monitoring swimming areas, enforcing safety regulations, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The purpose of the class is to perform lifeguard duties in the interest of public safety at pool facilities and elsewhere. This class works according to set procedures.

Requirements

• Must possess a current Lifeguard Certification from a nationally recognized organization, i.e. American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, YMCA of USA, or equivalent.
• Requires effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Must possess good eyesight and hearing.
• Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion (18 and older).

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of Preventing Disease Transmission and Oxygen Administration training within 30 days of employment preferred.
