About The Position

The Marriott Park Ridge is seeking a seasonal pool attendant to join their positive and talented team! The individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. This role involves welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and promoting pool rules and regulations. The attendant will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating security and safety risks, monitoring pool area occupancy, and responding appropriately in emergency situations. Providing assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive and reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions are key duties. Maintaining the cleanliness of the pool area, including disinfecting and clearing debris, setting up tables and chairs, and monitoring towels are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write clearly to ascertain and document important information.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal customers.
  • Ability to stand, walk/or sit to continuously perform essential job functions for duration of the shift.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Physically fit, good swimming abilities, and able to perform physical labor.
  • Ability to move and lift heavy furniture and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to hotel standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Promote the rules and regulations of the pool.
  • Identify security and safety risks or undesirable conditions in the pool area.
  • Monitor and maintain occupancy level per hotel policy for registered hotel guests.
  • Observe activity in the pool area and appropriately in accordance with local operating procedures in event of an emergency.
  • Provide assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services in a calm, rational and persuasive manner.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to supervisor or a manager.
  • Keep the pool area clean, disinfect and clear of debris and trash.
  • Keep tables and chairs set up properly.
  • Monitor towels.
