This position involves performing polysomnography procedures on patients with suspected sleep disorders, adhering to facility policies and procedures. The role requires completing technical reports, processing patient charge information, and maintaining accurate medical records and documentation. The technologist will identify and perform basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting, eliminate artifacts, monitor patients, and ensure safety during procedures. Communication with other patient care support staff is essential. Responsibilities also include preparing patients for testing, communicating procedure information, answering questions, ensuring accurate electrode application, and collecting information pertinent to test interpretation. The technologist is also responsible for stocking and maintaining supplies and equipment and preparing patient rooms for procedures.
