About The Position

This full-time position involves the performance of Polysomnograms. The role is based at PMG - Rio Rancho High Resort and operates on a 12-hour night shift. The Polysomnography Technologist II will perform duties under the direct supervision of a Polysomnography Technologist II or Licensed Physician, ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate data acquisition.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Enrollment in an accredited educational program described in section 5 of the Polysomnographic Practice Act within 7 days from start date.
• BLS required.

Nice To Haves

• MA, EEG tech, EMT, Nurse Tech experience preferred.
• Application for NM Polysomnographic Trainee Permit/License will be submitted immediately upon completion of the first two modules in accredited educational program (approximately 14 days from start date).
• Must complete the accredited program within 6 months from start date.
• After completion of the accredited educational program the employee will immediately apply for NM Polysomnographic Temporary Permit.
• Must obtain Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) license within 2 years from start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs polysomnography acquisitions, per departmental protocols while monitoring signal quality.
• Performs scoring of sleep testing and generates study reports.
• Documents routine observations per department policy to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
• Perform routine positive airway pressure mask fitting.
• Maintains, cleans, calibrates, and troubleshoots Sleep Center equipment.
• Educates patients regarding sleep testing and orients them to the Sleep Center.
• Communicates with Sleep Center physicians regarding their patients and / or testing procedures.
• Applies electrodes per physician ordered montage and departmental procedure.
• Attends meetings and in-services as required.
• Functions as an effective team member.
• Other functions as required.
