About The Position

This position is responsible for performing polysomnographic procedures, including patient preparation, data acquisition, and intervention implementation. The technologist will provide age-specific care and ensure adherence to all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Current CPR or BCLS certification
  • Ability to provide age specific care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills.
  • Appropriate social skills.
  • Ability to follow direction.
  • Ability to respond to study participant’s procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate information.
  • Adherence to HIPAA/OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen regulations and associated workplace trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers and analyzes patient information, including history, physical info, medicines, and study protocols.
  • Completes and verifies documentation and explains procedures to patients.
  • Prepares and calibrates equipment for testing, ensuring proper function.
  • Applies electrodes and sensors according to published standards.
  • Performs physiologic calibrations and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Follows procedural protocols to assure collection of appropriate data during polysomnographic procedures.
  • Implements appropriate interventions and documents observations, including sleep stages and clinical events.
  • Provides age-specific care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Maintains current CPR or BCLS certification.
  • Complies with applicable law, regulations, guidelines, and standards regarding safety and infection control.
  • Demonstrates effective written and spoken communication skills.
  • Demonstrates appropriate social skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to follow direction.
  • Responds to study participant's procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary.
  • Adheres to HIPAA/OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen regulations and maintains associated workplace trainings.
