About The Position

Under general supervision, may provide basic supportive services such as gathering and verifying patient information, testing preparation and monitoring, documenting routine observations, data acquisition and scoring, and assisting with appropriate interventions for patient safety. May also implement appropriate interventions for patient safety. Coverage across multiple sites, as needed.

Requirements

  • Meets Medical Board of California requirements
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • PSGT-Polysomnographic Technician from Medical Board of California
  • 6 months of experience as a Registered Polysomnographic Trainee
  • Ability to recognize and provides age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Knowledge of cardiorespiratory function, sleep physiology and neurology is essential in providing the basis for monitoring polysomnograms and recognizing pathology that requires treatment.
  • Understanding of physics, medical electronics, in-depth medical terminology, with emphasis on pulmonology, neurology, and sleep-related pharmacology.
  • Knowledge of administration of oxygen, nasal CPAP, suction devices, and ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction.
