About The Position

The Polysomnographic Technologist II works collectively with the Medical Director, Leader, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder function testing and scoring. Performs comprehensive sleep testing / analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Leader, Medical Director, or designee and provides supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee and Polysomnographic Technologist I. A Polysomnographic Technologist II is credentialed in sleep technology. This is a 2-bed, AASM-accredited adult sleep lab currently using Natus SleepWorks 10. The lab is planning to expand into pediatric studies once accreditation is obtained. Staffing is a 1:2 tech-to-patient ratio for standard studies. For pediatric patients under age 5, a 1:1 policy is required. The tech will be working independently overnight, so they need to be comfortable managing the full workflow without onsite support. Lab is located in the hospital.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must obtain ONE of the following: Successful completion of an accredited educational program with emphasis in polysomnography OR Successfully transitioned into a polysomnographic technologist I AND successfully obtained credentialing in sleep technology.
  • CPR-American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Proivders)

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neuro-diagnostics).
  • BRPT Certification in Clinical Sleep Health CCSH
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT
  • American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists
  • ABRET Registered Encephalography Technologist R. EEG

Responsibilities
