This role involves receiving and reviewing requests for polysomnographic testing, preparing the laboratory, and setting up and calibrating testing and treatment equipment. The technician will explain procedures to patients, place and attach electrodes, operate polysomnographs for recording and analysis, monitor patient progress, and interpret final tracings to prepare reports for physician evaluation. Responsibilities also include maintaining inventory, performing routine cleaning and maintenance, participating in research studies, and ensuring quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards are met.
