The Polysomnographic Sleep Tech - Casual position is part-time and involves preparing and calibrating equipment for sleep testing, applying monitoring devices, and assisting with scoring sleep/wake stages and generating reports. The role also includes implementing therapeutic interventions such as positive airway pressure and oxygen administration, assisting with various sleep studies, and ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of monitoring equipment. The technologist will schedule and discuss test processes with patients, answer their questions, and educate physicians and patients on sleep medicines. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development across the lifespan, and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
