About The Position

A Pollution Control Analyst Supervisor directs and coordinates pollution investigation and control work. Work of this class involves supervising pollution control analyst subordinates, office support and data entry personnel. Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class may work evening, weekend and holiday hours and are on-call 24 hours a day. Work is performed in an office where normal environmental conditions are encountered. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of experience in pollution investigation and control work in at least two of the following fields: storm water waste water treatment plants; design of treatment or drainage facilities; water, waste water or soils laboratories; pollution or erosion control; or soil studies including one year of such lead responsibilities as assigning and reviewing the work of others.
  • Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or an equivalent driver's license and eligible to obtain a Baltimore City driver’s permit.
  • Must upload a copy of your valid driver’s license with application at time of applying.
  • Must possess and maintain a current license as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist from the Maryland Board of Environmental Health Specialist.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of engineering principles related to the field of pollution studies, storm water management, waste treatment and drainage or soil management.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to review and interpret plans for industrial wastewater pretreatment processes.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare technical reports.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively.
