About The Position

The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for Political Science Adjunct Instructor Positions for Academic Year 2026-2027. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to assist in further development of the UNT Dallas Department of History and Political Science. Requirements

  • A master’s degree in political science with outstanding teaching experience in teaching foundational-level Political Science courses, OR a master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Political Science; with outstanding teaching experience in teaching lower-level Political Science courses.
  • Strong teaching skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Political Science or Ph.D./Ed.D. in Political Science, or equivalent, including 18 graduate hours in Political Science.
  • Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Experience teaching and developing online courses.

Responsibilities

  • Plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes in conjunction with the Program Coordinator.
  • Undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours.
  • Provide instruction for lower-division Political Science courses, including American Government I (National), American Government II (state), Introduction to Political Science, Introduction to Public Policy, and various other political science courses.
  • Include, in their courses, certain student assessment measures determined by the department, and to compile data on those assessment criteria.
