About The Position

WBFF/WNUV is seeking a full-time Political Photographer with a passion for local/national government coverage. The role involves covering local Baltimore City and Maryland politics, as well as in-depth investigative assignments, including the 90-day legislative session. The candidate will be working with full high definition (HD) equipment, editing on desktops and laptops utilizing the Adobe suite. Essential qualities include strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, a strong understanding of creating text-on-screen graphics and document manipulation, excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude. A keen interest in growing in the world of political reporting is absolutely essential for this position.

Requirements

• 1 year of ENG experience with a network affiliate news organization
• Strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems
• Strong understanding of creating text-on-screen graphics and document manipulation
• Possess excellent people skills
• Strong work ethic
• Great attitude
• At least (1) year of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photography equipment
• Team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
• Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and be able to operate ENG news vehicles
• Ability to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to do sit-down interviews with multiple cameras including secondary gear like DSLRs, Osmo/GoPro, and phone
